Where the material comes from
Every archive, library and collection whose material appears on this site, and the terms under which it appears — collected here so that the pages themselves can be read without interruption.
This site
A private, non-commercial research and documentation website. There is no advertising, no paywall and no paid service; nothing on these pages is invoiced, brokered or sold, and the site earns nothing. The services described under Services are given free in exchange for permission to document and research what turns up.
Unless a caption or the table below says otherwise, all photographs of bottles, labels, corks, capsules, seals and documents on this site are the author’s own, as is all text.
Reusing this material
Text and photographs © 2026 Frank Strzyzewski. You may copy, quote and republish them for non-commercial research, teaching and private interest, provided you name the author and link to the page you took them from. Please do not crop out or overwrite the credit embedded in the image files.
Commercial use, press use, print reproduction and high-resolution files: please ask. Requests of that kind are usually granted, and a print-quality file is better than a screen copy anyway.
Material from third parties is reproduced either under the licence named below, with the holder’s written permission, or as a short quotation for the purpose of discussion. Facts — vintages, prices, quantities, dates, call numbers — are not anyone’s property and may be restated freely.
If you hold rights in something shown here
Every effort has been made to identify rights holders and to reproduce material within the limits of quotation or with permission. If you hold rights in something shown here and object to its use, write to the address on the contact page and it will be removed or credited as you wish, without argument.
